Wine and food pairing can be cheesy, in a good way

Whether following a long bike ride, a day on the slopes, or mixing it up in the surf, there are few things more rewarding than capping a great outing with a cheeseburger and a favorite beverage. In the spirit of that tradition, Westmount has some suggestions for how to bask in that glorious celebration:

Where’s the beef?

Westmount Pinot Noir has plenty of body and flavor intensity to match up with your favorite grass-fed beef patty. As for the Pinot Gris, we recommend going with something a little less traditional like grilled chicken or a salmon patty. There’s no wrong answer here.

More cheese, please!

The dynamic Westmount Pinot Noir pairs well with a grip of cheeses, but we like keeping it local, so we smother our burgers with Tillamook Medium Cheddar or Tumalo Farms Classico. These medium-hard cheeses play well with the medium body and slightly earthy character of our Pinot Noir.

For Westmount Pinot Gris, a grilled chicken patty topped with Tillamook Swiss or Portland Creamery’s Oregon Chevre will do the trick. If you decide to go with a salmon burger, Briar Rose Creamery’s Goat Milk Feta is the move. These softer cheeses pair nicely with Westmount Pinot Gris’ citrus notes and intense fruity character.

The grass is always greener.

If you prefer to skip the fries, Westmount Pinot Gris is a masterful complement to virtually any salad. After all, a good Westmount adventurer knows that sometimes you need to buck up and eat your greens.

Remember, whether by sea, slope, or mountain top, you’ve earned the right to feast and Westmount elevates that experience.
